This building on Strines Road, and the one next to it, were possibly used as lime sheds where carts could be loaded undercover. Burnt lime had to be kept dry during transit otherwise it would start to slake or 'fall' as it was called. Lime Kiln Lodge is easily recognisable on the receipt from J & M Tymm dated 30th July 1892, which can also be viewed on the Virtual Tour.
