Whitfield, EdwinEdwin Whitfield, of Derby St. Marple, is the elevated figure behind the front Row. His son Joseph said this was taken in Marple but the date (c1910?) and location is unknown. Edwin never served in the Armed Services so this photo is a bit of a mystery to grandson Derek Whitfield, who provided it.Jul 02, 2010

Norman Ridgeway & Phyllis Greenwood 1933Wedding of Norman Ridgeway and Phyllis Greenwood, of Marple Tennis club fame, 29 September 1933. Margaret Cochran (later Lane) is seated far right, and Hugh Lane, is second gent from the right. Carver Theatre castThe cast of a play at the Carver Theatre. The only person known is Maragret Cochran, seated centre stage as the 'Queen'. She wrote on the back 'The Royal Jester' and 1924? Daughter Beth Bainbridge, who provided the photo, believes it to actually be late 1920s or early 30s.
