Lodge, OscarOscar Lodge used to interpret people’s character from their handwriting. He did this for various charities and ‘good causes’ like the Carver Playhouse, but didn’t always dress up - in my mother’s 1930s dressing gown back to front! In this picture he’s at a garden party in aid of the Carver in the Headridges’ garden at the end of Dale Road overlooking the deep valley of the Goyt towards the viaduct.
