Marple Warship Parade 1941

In 1941 Marple held a "Warship Week" and raised Â£60,000 on the first day - enough to adopt the minesweeper "HMS Maple". This photo shows the Red Cross and Ambulance workers parading on Market Street. From Marple Local History Society Archives.
