Sarah aged 19 works in the factory and earns 5s, Thomas aged 14, earns 4s 6d, Betsy, aged 9, earns 2s 6d. Total earnings of family, 30 shillings per week. The family were nearly starved in Bedfordshire, but all the family have plenty to eat and drink here. Mr Peddor says he would "rather cross the sea than go back into Bedfordshire".
