Otterspool Bridge Tragedy 1935During bridge repairs in 1935 a 40 ton travelling crane fell into the river. Sadly the crane driver was trapped inside the cabin and despite his workmates best efforts he drowned before they could pull him out. From Marple Local History Society Archives.     (1 votes)
