Winter 2009/10

In 2009/10 Marple enjoyed the coldest and snowiest winter since 1962, when the Marple Aqueduct was damaged by frost. Words used by locals to describe it included: Crisp, Cold, Gorgeous, Slippery, White, Icey, Arctic, Annoying, Tiresome, Dangerous, Worrying and Enchanting! Let us have your pictures to record it for posterity!

Ludworth School Swimathon 2010-13

Each year pupils from Ludworth primary School in Marple Bridge raise money by swimming, splashing (and celebrate by pushing in their head teacher) at the Romiley Marina Pool. Expert swimmers and young paddlers between 4 and 11 years of age give their best while having as much fun as possible.
