In 2009/10 Marple enjoyed the coldest and snowiest winter since 1962, when the Marple Aqueduct was damaged by frost. Words used by locals to describe it included: Crisp, Cold, Gorgeous, Slippery, White, Icey, Arctic, Annoying, Tiresome, Dangerous, Worrying and Enchanting!
