Mill Brow Carnival

Not a real policeman but George Beard taking part in a Mill Brow Carnival. George lived at 2 Holly Vale for many years. Provided by Martin Cross via Marple Local History Society Archives.

Martin Cross says: The lean-to shown on this picture is built onto the end of the terraced row, Holly Bank. It was still in place when we left Mill brow in 1979. Alec Dawson, who had Mill Brow Farm, lived in that house until his death c1968. There was no Farmhouse! The land and buildings of Mill Brow Farm were sold off to separate buyers and no trace of the farm remains.
