Maria Ann Hudson when young (but not very beautiful!), 1819-1906, unmarried sister of Thomas and William Hudson, Maria inherited Brabyns Hall from her mother and lived there from 1868 (with her niece Fanny) till she died in 1906. She was a very accomplished artist (see below). Together with her mother, she built and endowed St Martin’s Church in Marple (completed 1870), and also the vicarage and the school. Mark Hudson.
