John Sandiford says: I recently went on line, and found the story of Marple Mill. My maternal grandfather, John Thompson Harris, was the mill manager for some time, and had previously managed cotton mills at Glossop, Hyde and Hazel Grove, : when I was a small boy he took me on a guided tour of Marple mill (I was enthusiastic about anything mechanical, and this has never changed!) I enclose a photo of him at the office desk taken by my Mother, Minnie, who I believe for some time worked in the office.
