Formely Mill Brow Independant. The Independants (Congregationalists) were non-conformists, in the 17th Century refered to as 'Puritans'. Congregational churches shared fully in the ecclesiastical prosperity of the Victorian era when many new churches were built in the Gothic style. There was a zeal for self-improvement among Victorian Congregationalists.
